People’s notion that it is the role of gov’t to stimulate the economy. I for one am a big believer that it is the role of gov’t to stay the hell out of the way. Spending $900B+ of money we don’t have is not helpful.
In the interest of spreading knowledge
so after a week of being sick adn midterming, i finally got out to run today. on the rare occassion that i trade free booze for working out, ive been treadmilling, but i decide to check out the NYU gym, because I heard they have a “track”
1. the track turned out to be on a roof. i sorta didnt get over that, for the whole run. very urban,very strange to be running by the tops of buildings. what are all the water towers for?
2. i got lapped by a marketing professor. who is 45. definently has a six pack.
3. and then the nyu soccer team. go fighting violets! in case i didnt feel slow enough.
4. i think i really like fall. maybe there is something to this whole season thing.
5. i need to go shopping. ive cycled through all “winter” outfits.
Water towers on tall buildings are for water pressure. Generally the pressure coming out of a city/town water pipe is only good to provide water pressure to a few stories at the max. So city buildings have water towers on top, water is pumped into these towers, and then gravity does the rest to provide water pressure to the entire building. I saw this photo today, and for a split second I thought to myself “What the hell is Michael Moore doing vacuuming the debate floor?”

She is a glorious sight. The famed Maltese Falcon sailed into the San Francisco Bay this past weekend, and I’m sorry I missed it. For those that don’t know, this is the 289ft creation of Tom Perkins, of Kleiner Perkins I’d say this creation certainly fits well with the motto of KPCB, “In search of the next big idea”. Hey Tom, I got a big idea, how about we build a 290ft sailboat?

I would be really surprised if AT&T was forward thinking enough to do this.
